Since she was two years old, my daughter Presley has been dancing.
Her initial love for dancing grew into a full-time passion to be as great as she possibly can.
As professional artists ourselves, my wife Jenna and I wanted to make sure she had the best training we could provide. But the best training has a cost attached to it.
Because Extensions Dance wants to empower as many families as possible to nurture young dancers, we were able to receive financial aid that enabled us to keep Presley enrolled in classes and become a company member at this prestigious studio.
In the past few years, Presley has blossomed to the point that she is now competing for national recognition as a sixth grader and routinely finishing in the tops of her categories at weekly dance competitions.
Under the leadership of Lizzie Mackenzie, students learn not only proper technique, stamina, musicality and other dance- related skills, they also learn discipline, how to be on a team, and how to treat everyone with basic human respect and decency.
Because EXD gives so many opportunities to young dancers and their families (in addition to hiring the best staff and teachers in the Chicago area) occasionally at the end of the year, the money doesn’t quite go far enough, and they rely on the generosity of others to allow them to continue by making up the deficit.
I sincerely hope you can help me raise enough money to make up for the financial aid they’ve offered to all families this year and for years to come!
